Daddy Day Fun Part 2
Laytin enjoying Daddy Day
Some additional photos from Laytin’s first photo shoot.
We decided that as a gift to ourselves, each year on Laytin’s birthday we would take professional pictures.
These are from our first shoot in East Hampton :-)
Laytin Turns One
I can’t believe how long it has been since I have blogged!
So much has happened.
Laytin is a walker! Started at the 11 1/2 month mark and is now an expert. Walking 95% of the time. Now, if we could only get him to get down on the ground to take the steps backwards as he did as a crawler - we would worry much less. He has decided that he can step and up and down steps like a big kid.
Laytin is saying more and more words. Moma, Dada, doggie, ball, bye-bye, night night, nanan and his favorite word - No…along with the most agressive shake of the head you have ever seen to show how much he means no.
Two more teeth are (finally) making there way in - his top canines - and boy are they painful. Nameless thus far.
Laytin has graduated from the baby house to the big daycare center. And, he LOVES LOVES LOVES it. Despite me crying on the last day of the baby house, the transition has gone amazingly well as his favorite teacher Dee moved with him and he has been reunited with some his favorites - Thomas, Isabella, Erin and Jacob.
Laytin is now a little traveler. Every Friday we pack-up and head East. And, we are having such a great Summer. He and Harper have become more than cousins - they have become the best of friends. We do so much together on the weekends - from the Bay, to the park, to the beach, to the duck pond, to swimming with Samson and everywhere in between we do it togther. They even HOLD HANDS in the car and its just the cutest thing you have ever seen. Casey bloggeed recently about how excited they get when the see each other for the first time on Fridays and it really is adorable. They scream will excitement and wrestle around on Sam’s bed.
Laytin is becoming a better sleeper. He has had almost a week of sleeping through the night or waking for just 10-15 minutes to nurse.
Laytin is beginning the transition to cow’s milk - as we begin to wean. He is taking to the cow’s milk very well. I however am having a hard time just stopping pumping. I want to still nurse at night and in the AM but am worried that when I stop pumping our nursing time will end. (Am sure there will be more on this in the coming weeks.)
Laytin is also a FISH. He loves the water - any kind - bay, ocean, pool, bathtub, hose, shower….doesn’t matter. He wants in and to stay in as long as possible.
He also continues to dance, dance, dance to any and all music - especially Yo Gabba Gabba which is one of his favorites.
And, one of the newest things Laytin does and the cutest is that is sings E-I-E-I-O from Old McDonald has a farm. He will sing it with me…or when I have stopped singing and he wants more, he will sing E-I-E-I-O…or just randomly when he is feeling it he will sing it as well. Melts my heart every time.
Love my little man more than anything in the entire world.
And, more and more each day!
Believe we can say Laytin is officially a walker - 11 1/2 months - on the nose :-)
Over the past 7-10 days, Laytin has begun to take steps here and there.
It started with 2 to 3 steps and he is now up to 10-20 at a time - when motivated - on his own!
He loves to walk holding one of my fingers or Todd’s fingers and will walk and walk and walk - but he is also starting to get very brave and do it on his own.
Any day now. Any day. We will have a little walker!
Just a quick note on some of Laytin’s first words.
In addition to his Mama’s and Dada’s - Laytin’s first word was NaNa (for Banana) and NightNight (for when we go to bed).
As with most babies, he likes words in repetition.
He now also says - dog - or doggie and points to Samson.
It is very very sweet.
